Departure

“Zircon, where are you going?” Zircon jumped slightly as his companion had snuck up on him as he was packing.

“Freya I could have sworn I told you, but I'm going to Kadath. You know Penumbra, that shadow drop we met? She said that the person she works for can help me with Jacob.” Freya's ears twitched slightly and she tensed up noticeably.

“And...I cannot come....?” Zircon sighed and ran a hand through his fur.

“Freya, you know you're the only one who has any understanding o basic responsibility. Purrsephone can run a register but she has no idea how to actually do a sale, and Polaris....well he's not a people person...” He drummed his fingers on folded clothing. “I'll tell you what though, if you can make a sale, something bigger than the little household gadgets, I'll take you to the Luxuries for a whole week. Close shop, and just go topside to relax.” Freya seemed to perk up at this offer and nodded.

“Very well. I hope you have a safe journey.” As much as she hated being left alone for prolonged periods of time, having what she understood to be a “vacation” was an exciting prospect. Come to think of it, she'd never been on such a thing. She hoped it would be as fun as they always sound.

Zircon, meanwhile; was focused on work. It had been a while since he'd been able to progress on his pet project. He finished packing and popped his back. “Hopefully this'll work...”
